eQuality Valuation Services, LLC of Waterbury, Connecticut will soon begin the process of assisting the Assessor with the October 1, 2020 revaluation of all properties in Ellington. State law mandates a revaluation be performed every five years, with the last revaluation in 2015.
The Town will be divided into sections for property inspections, and postcards will be sent at least one week in advance notifying property owners that eQuality representatives will be in their neighborhood.
Complete property inspections must be performed to assure the accuracy of the Assessor’s information for valuation. This involves measuring the outside, inspecting and listing interior features of each improvement, and taking photos of the front and rear of each building.
All eQuality representatives will have photo identification, along with a letter of introduction signed by the Assessor. All vehicles will be clearly marked and registered with the Ellington Resident State Trooper’s office. Homeowners are encouraged to ask for identification prior to admitting anyone into their homes.
