A Message from the Ellington Registrars of Voters
Primaries for Governor will be held August 14th for both Republican and Democratic parties. To be eligible to vote in the primaries you must be registered in a major party. If you are currently registered as a Republican or Democrat but wish to change your party affiliation, please keep in mind that party privileges take 90 days to become effective. The deadline for changing from one major party to another to vote in that party’s primary is May 14th.
New voters or unaffiliated voters may register in a major party until noon, the day before the primary which would be August 13th. If you are not sure of your party affiliation, you can check online at the following link http://www.dir.ct.gov/sots/LookUp.aspx or call the Registrars' Office at 860-870-3107. Voter registration can also be done online at www.sots.ct.gov.
