The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 83 in Vernon and Ellington, beginning Monday, June 4, 2018.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 3.01-mile segment of Route 83 in Vernon and Ellington. The milling portion of this project is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 4, 2018, to Wednesday, June 6, 2018. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Thursday, June 7, 2018 to Friday, June 15, 2018. The regular work schedule for this project is 6:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. (Monday - Friday).
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2018 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO:  Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 83 in Vernon and Ellington from SR527 (West Street) to the north junction of Route 140 (Crystal Lake Road). Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 6:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. (Monday - Friday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
