TAXES ARE DUE

As you may know, the Town of Ellington delayed mailing the second installment of Real Estate and Personal Property bills due to the uncertainty concerning the State of Connecticut’s budget.   The Board of Finance has determined there will be no change made to the current mill rate of 31.7.  Therefore, on December 11, 2017, the second billing of the 2016 Grand List tax bills for Real Estate and Personal Property will be mailed.
 
Tax bills for Real Estate and Personal Property greater than $600 are due in two installments.  The first installment was due July 1, 2017 and the second installment is due January 1, 2018.  Please review your bill carefully as it will reflect any payments or outstanding balances as of November 16, 2017
 
If you do not receive a bill for which you are responsible, call the Tax Office at 860-870-3113 and request a copy, or go to www.ellington-ct.gov and click on the “Online Bill Pay” to view your bill online, or print a duplicate copy. 
 
The most convenient way to pay is by mail or online at www.ellington-ct.gov. ACH payments (electronic checks) cost $0.95 per transaction, credit and debit card payment fees will be 2.95%.
 
If you are mailing your payment please take note that our remittance address has changed.  Our lockbox in Boston, Massachusetts is closed. ALL tax payments should be mailed to:

The Town Hall hours are Monday 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
