ASSISTANT TOWN CLERK: Town Clerk's Office. 19-hour work week. Performs clerical and administrative duties including recording vital statistics, land records, election information and other records. Issues various licenses and permits. Certification as Municipal Town Clerk or ability to become certified required. Office experience and knowledge of Microsoft programs a plus. Hourly Wage: $18.00 to $23.00.
Town Clerk Certification Procedure: There are five classes offered by the Connecticut Town Clerk's Association which teach the basic areas of the Town Clerk duties. They are held each year during the months of May and December. Only one class is offered during those months on a rotating basis. All five classes are required to be completed in order to be eligible to take the State exam. It takes approximately 2-1/2 to 3 years to complete the classes and exam.

Wednesday 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Thursday 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Friday 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
