Household Hazardous Waste Info & Schedule
Ellington's Household Hazardous Waste Day is
October 27, 2012 from 8AM-1PM
at the Town Garage, 21 Main Street.

Items that may be brought are household chemicals and cleaners, garage and workshop chemicals, pool chemicals, paint*, paint thinner, fluorescent bulbs, alkaline batteries, and mercury thermometers.
*Please do not bring latex paint to hazardous waste collections. Dry it up! All residual/leftover paint must be hardened or dried. Simply remove the lid and place can in a safe, well-ventilated area. Cans 1/4 full or less will dry in a few days. Remove lids from cans, and put both lids and cans into a plastic trash bag along with your regular household trash. Waste oil, antifreeze, oil filters, propane tanks, fluorescent light bulbs, computer components, electronics and car and lawn mower batteries are accepted at the Ellington Town Garage year round.
